My favorite color has been green ever since I was five. I used to pick a new favorite color everyday. One day, it was green. I forgot to change the color the next day, so it just stuck. So now I LOVE the color green.

Green is simply blue and yellow. It is just how it is, don't ask. I wrote a poem about green in like 3rd grade or something.

eventually I'll get to every color in the rainbow

so the fruit orange is very fascinating

its pulp inside is hated nationally by many people

they have tons of vitamin C, but are also very sweet

they've got a tough skin, because the plant wants to protect this precious fruit from predators, like people

once peeled, the orange is divided into wedges each coated with a plastic-like substance

if you peeled the orange farther still, you'll see individual packets of juice coated in the same plastic-like substance, each just bigger than a grain of sand

the color orange is made from red and yellow

it's interesting how our eyes see that reflection of light and color and stuff like that

The Tree

Today I saw a tree. Now. I know what you're thinking. "Trees are everywhere. It's not an event to see one!" Yes, reader, I am aware of that. BUT! This tree was something........ Time for explanations. Okay. Let me describe what happened.

We were stopped at a red light, and it just so happens that there was this tree right outside of my window. Let me describe it. It was blotchy with brown and white on its bark. The leaves were perfectly green. The bark was what caught my eye. The way it was spotted, it looked like someone dumped either a bucket of white paint or brown all over the trunk. The paint had dried and peeled revealing the opposite color. I know it wasn't paint. It seemed to me that the bark was either white, but chipping to show brown, or brown, but chipping to show white. This tree was so strange. It caught my eye. Again.

This is a story I wrote about this tree, which I named Charlie.

Every night, Jenny would ride home from school on her bike. She would always have a stick with her, which she used to smack all the trees she passed. One tree, named Charlie, chipped and chipped until he looked like he does today. THE END.

This is what happened. I saw that tree, womdered about it, and decided it would be a good thing to blog about.

Pinky was an unwanted lego. She was pink. When Pinky was born, she was even discarded by her parents. Now that Pinky was 10, things were a lot worse. She often got teased in her small 5th grade class, not that Mrs.Blinkly cared. You see, no one had ever even heard of such nonsense. A pink lego! Rubbish! Pinky wasn't a wimpy type, but she didn't exactly enjoy the teasers. Not that she minded them, but she was just looking for her own place in the world. Then one day, Pinky got a package in the mail that said on the front: "Pinky. I know how you feel so I jumped out of this little boy's box, into his room, set up a trap, and open the box to see what I got ya! - Aunt Red" Pinky opened the vast box and found the wonderful surprise: Her very own human! Pinky rushed around in circles, screaming with delight. The boy saw no movement and picked up the unusual lego. This boy happened to like pink legos. He sun bleached red ones in the window. Since Aunt Red's box was the boy's home, Pinky was happy to see her. She must have been bleached because now she looked like Pinky herself. Pinky lived here with Aunt Red for the rest of her life(until the boy accidentally let his cat chew her up). And she lived happily ever after.

I could not stop listening to "Yellow Submarine." The Beatles songs on my playlist are probably the best. NEXT TO AT THE HOP!! I love that song!!!! Bah bah bah bah! Mr. Spaceman was my first ukulele song ever. I like that one too. I am playing Mr. Spaceman on piano for my school's talent show. Hey Mr. Spaceman! I was walking down my street when I got some sawdust on my shoe.
I realized only then, that the street was made of it!
I called 911 but when they arrived they said, "Take some gum to chew!"
They saw no emergency, that made me feel like I was made of spit!
I could dig a four foot deep hole in the sawdust.
I was so soft and felt good on my hands.
I needed to dig that hole, I must!
A guy dressed in black jumped out and said, "Give me all your land!"
"I'm sorry sir, I have no land. I can even prove it! Here's my ID and every inch of land I own!"
"Beat it, kid! I don't really care! I put 2 feet of sawdust out as a threat!"
"Yes I could tell. I was surprised. I was blown!"
"You probably like this sawdust, I bet!"
"Oh yes. It's lovely. It's soft and splinters your hands!"
"Anyone else that likes it?"
" Not that I know of, sir! For you, that's probably grand."
"That's right. It is. It's not quite grand, just a little bit."
He pulled off his mask and what I saw surprised me most of all!
"That was a test, you see. We still need to teach you not to talk to strangers!"
"Yes, Uncle Gerald. I felt quite safe. I wasn't scared at all!"
"Just stay away from now on. We want to keep you safe from the dangers!"

So that is what happened one sunny day on my street. The sawdust was only a thin layer and was approved of the people who owned the land it was sprinkled on as long as it was cleaned after half an hour (which was cleaned up in 20 minutes instead).

I took a typing test twice. The first time I took it, it told me I was 7 words per minute. I was typing like how I am supposed to type- touch typing. The second time it said I had 23 words per minute. I was doing what I usually do. I look at the keyboard and look at the screen every few words or so. I am very good at doing the wrong thing.

We got our tree today. It's very tall. We haven't decorated it yet, though. FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

Fire is a great thing. This picture of a fire isn't as great as a real fire, though. If this works with Blogger, this "picture" is actually an about two minute video of a fire. One thing I know is, the world was never a cold and dark place before fire was discovered. God did create the sun in the seven days of creation. Fire is very hot!!!!! Natalie likes fires. "Fire" is a fun word to write. Fire Fire Fire Fire! See? So it is. Today is Thanksgiving. I'll probably see a real fire tomorrow when we go to my dad's parent's house. They have a fireplace. That's where this picture was taken. My mom's parents, which we are celebrating the holiday with, don't have a fireplace. We have two fireplaces at our house, but we have never ever made a single fire. A lot of people think fire is red. It's actually anywhere from whitish orange to blue. Sometimes, in a very weak fire, a fire can be slightly reddish orange. This fire is more like whitish orange with specks of blue(when I saw the real fire it had tiny blue streaks everywhere). In conclusion, you can see pretty well that fires are a neat thing to have: Winter warmth, Summer barbecues, baking, heaters, etc.

Legos are really cool. I like them alot. I once built a huge castle made of only red and green. Actually , it was basically just a wall. In the picture to the left , I stood on a bunch of legos that are presently behind. If legos were alive , they would not enjoy a 9 year old , barefoot girl stepping on them. I wouldn't! Some other time when I have more of it , I'll write what the llife of a lego is. I'll stop writing because I have to go in my room at 8:30. But I'll keep blogging and you'll keep reading!

She said it was Bumblebee.I started singing the word Bumblebee over and over. "Pop it hingin' Bumbabee!Kwite!" Natalie's favorite song is probably Pocket full of Sunshine by Natasha Whatever her last name is. The song came on the radio and me and my dad told Natalie to sing along. Her remake went something like this:"Come on baby! Come on baby!" In the beginning of the car ride,she said"I'nt men! I'nt men!" She wanted a mint. Right now, she said"Hallo!" I have had my two rats for about 9 months.I'm not sure.The day we built the housefan was the day Cuddles died.She looked like Smylee in the top picture.Hugful on the bottom is a nicer rat.As you can see,Hugful is on my bed.Smylee has run away once in my room and it took half an hour to get her.Whenever Natalie sees the rats,she says"Getta Backin onna bed!"Which is translated as "Get the black one on the bed."She used to always ask for "the whiten",but now she has learned about Hugful

can't be five.Did you pick a number?"as she waved her index in my face.I picked three.She told me to look up,just my eyes.Alyssa:"Three?" Me:"How'd you guess?" Alyssa:"Magic!" I am not the kind of person who believes in magic,I think it was just a lucky guess.Next to me,there are to exactly alike phone books stacked on top of each other seperated by a white plastic bag.I've writen so much now that the blue bar to the right is getting shorter.That just means I'm a good writer and thinker.Now that this blog has me,check it daily.Bye!

Kristina again!You know something frustrating about this blogger,it doesn't let you indent.For small children,indenting is a two-space you leave blank on each topic,place,or dialouge.But,that's not the point.Colors are my "thing" this time.The next writing is in black because the compose page has a white page and I can't see what I am typing.Better.Okay,so about colors,some of them sound like songs.Actually,the songs just kind of sound like colors.I picture a few people playing the song,but tinted in a COLOR.When the song is slow,the picture is teeny,but when it's fast the picture is VERY LARGE.This shade of green is probably my very favorite.Do you prefer white,or black print?Leave it in your comment.My mom(Vanessa Christine)'s signature on her blog is,apparently,her absolute favorite color.Compromise:I'll write in yellow.Well,since the topic is colors, let's go FUNKISHLY!If you need to,scroll down so the post is in the middle of your screen.Notice all the WACKO colors.Well,it's not exactly wacko,but unique in a way.

The Bridge Park Yesterday,Sunday

Hey! It's Kristina.My dad decided that I can post whenever I want,and that this is MY BLOG!
Yesterday,Sunday,we went to a bridge park(which I don't know what it's called)and there were weirdo dancer people.They danced to old folk-like songs played by two people,one playing a stringed instrument,while the other pulled on an accordion or something like that.All the people did was run in circles and smack each other with bars of wood,to seem like they were sword fighting.They also had plates of mini bells tied to their shins.Sometimes,they would sing a short line or two.There were six dancers.One rule of the park is:NO AMPLIFIED MUSIC! Well,now that I think about it,it wasn't really "amplified" music.It was actually kind of pretty.There's not much more to say about them.I'm gonna wrap up the paper and tie the bow to this post.

Redwood Trees,by Kristi

I am Kristi.Or,sometimes Kristina.
I am on my dad's blog becuse I felt like it.
This is a sort of mini report(not boring!)about redwood trees.
Coast redwoods are some of the tallest trees in,maybe,the world.
These trees can soak up thousands of gallons of water though night humidity and dew.They absorb this water through there needles.People don't water them.
One type of redwood is the sequoia.Sequoias have larger trunks and are slightly shorter than normal coast redwoods.
Obviously,coast redwoods have red bark.The bark is like a reddish-brown that we say is red,but is actually brown.
A report.Maybe I should write it to my teacher,Ms.Finkle.Fourth graders are supposed to write reports about social study stuff,aren't they?

Jeremy had the quote of the day today....

We were at the beach today, no real surprise, and Jeremy was flying his kite that he made last weekend. He already had let go of it once, then got it back, and I warned him to hold on to it. But he let it go again (he said later he had to itch his foot). I was standing a couple feet away from him when he called to me that he let it go. I told him to run after it, and he did. But I realized that he wasn't going to catch it - so I decided I had to. I ran as fast as I could to catch that kite string, right past Jeremy. And right as I was within reach, I tripped on a rock and then dove right at it. I got it - and I hope that it looked dramatic. And then Jeremy said the thing that made my whole day,

"What happened to you Dad, did you get Comcast?"

Yep, I'm that fast. I didn't know I was, but apparently I can outrun a rocket car, just like the commercial. And Jeremy even knows the whole jingle "high speed internet with Power Boost."

And the kite I saved. I put it carefully under the cooler - so it wouldn't blow away. But then Ethan found it - so now I think it's in pieces in the back of the van.

But I can probably fix it, so hopefully I can be a hero another day.

The Last Couple Days

The Reason For My Blog

Last night I took the three oldest kids to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Michelle stayed home with Natalie, so while we were there I e-mailed her these pictures and I called her and told her she could post them on her blog. I thought it was a good idea, but she wasn't really into it. Basically she told me something like,"Hey, don't tell me what to put on my blog - post it on your own blog." But I didn't have a blog, so she made me one.

I thought it was really sweet of her. She tried to do it as a surprise. But the big tip-off was when she asked me what I wanted my password to be. Actually, this is "my" first post. Everything else Michelle did - the name of it (which I kind of like, but it's too long), the layout, the pictures, the music, the background, the blog roll and the previous posts! I was pretty much asleep while she did most of it. I didn't even know that my blog existed until this morning. And then she even snuck in another post before lunch. I think she's done being my ghost author, at least for now.

So anyway - last night we went to the boardwalk. Good times. Good times. The blond kid in the front of the cave train picture is Matthew. He belongs to my buddy Phil. He and his wife met us there, because honestly that place scares me a bit and I pretty much won't even go unless there is a good adult to kid ratio. Everyone had fun, today Kristina said it was the first fun thing we had done all summer. (Whatever short term memory girl!) She gets to go on the most rides since she's the tallest. Jeremy's favorite thing was winning the consolation prize at this ball toss game. Then Ethan wanted the same plastic inflatable hammer that Jeremy had so I let him play, too. But somehow he actually won - then I got nervous - cuz the whole point was for the two kids to have the same thing. But the girl running the booth said he could have the stuffed doggie (now named Spot) AND the cheap blow-up hammer! Wow, catastrophe averted.
